This website

cloudlabworks.dev is an informational site with local search and an inquiry form. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, has no user accounts, and loads no third-party resources. (The email sign-up box under each post opens Buttondown, our newsletter provider, in a new tab when you press it.) If you email us or submit the inquiry form, what you enter (name, email, optional phone and company, category, and your message) is delivered to us as an email through Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and kept only as long as it is needed to respond to you. The message body is not stored on the website; temporary anti-abuse metadata is described below.

Ask Waku. This is a guided search of approved public pages, not a connection to an AI agent. Questions and the displayed conversation stay in memory in your browser tab. They are not sent to us, placed in URLs, stored in browser storage, or added to the search content. Reloading or clearing the conversation removes them. The guide downloads its public search data and software from this website.

Inquiry protection. Pressing Send inquiry submits your contact fields and message. We do not include your IP address or country in the email. The form temporarily retains a keyed, one-way identifier derived from your IP address, a keyed message fingerprint, submission ID, time and delivery state to limit abuse and prevent duplicate sends. It does not store the message body in that admission store. These records are retained for at most 26 hours under normal operation: they become eligible for deletion after 25 hours, with hourly cleanup. Messages submitted for delivery remain in Alex’s email as needed to respond. An uncertain delivery is not retried automatically. Inquiries are correspondence, not instructions to an automated agent.

Comments. Posts accept comments. A comment stores only the name you type, your text, the post it belongs to, and the time; no email address is asked for. Comments are held until Alex reads and approves them, and an unapproved comment is deleted automatically after 30 days. To stop floods, the site keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for 60 seconds after you post; the address itself is never stored. Approved comments are public on the post. Ask at the inquiry form to have one of yours removed.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes connection metadata (such as IP address and request headers) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The inquiry protection described above uses a temporary keyed identifier; other site traffic reporting uses aggregate counts.

Google API Services

CloudLab Works operates a Google Cloud project used to connect Google Nest devices that we own to our own home-automation systems through the Google Smart Device Management API. This integration is used only by CloudLab Works for its own devices. It is not offered to the public, and no third party's Google account data is accessed, collected, or stored.

CloudLab Works' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is not sold, not used for advertising, and not transferred to third parties except as required to operate the integration or by law.

Your rights

Ask us at any time what information we hold about you, and we will tell you, correct it, or delete it. Washington and applicable U.S. law govern this policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. The current version is always at cloudlabworks.dev/privacy.
